STAAH MAX - How to manage your OTA Promotions for Booking.com?

OTA promotion feature allows a property to setup promotions on OTAs via MAX extranet. 

This feature supports creating NEW promotions created in MAX extranet, and option to pull existing promotions created on OTA extranet.

Where is this found?
  1. Login to MAX Extranet > Channels Module > OTA Promotion




  1. Get Promotion – enables property to pull in existing promotions created on OTA extranet.
  1. Properties that manage multiple OTA listings can select what listing to pull promotions from.
  2. Select Get Promotion>Select applicable OTA Listing


  1. Add Promotion – ability to create a NEW promotion. 

How do I create a NEW promotion?

      1. Click ‘Add Promotion’ button. 



      2. Add promotion name > select promotion type > applicable OTA and OTA listing. 




The below booking.com promotions are supported, each with their set requirements.
  1. Basic
  2. Early Booker
  3. Last Minute
  4. Geo Rate
  5. Business Booker
  6. Mobile


   

      3. Select applicable Room/Rate plan combination that will be part of the promotion>Next.
  1. Multiple Rate plan selection supported
  2. Rooms/Rate plans displayed will be based on what is mapped to the Channel listing ID selected

BASIC 

Easy to use promotion that will give the guest a discount on selected rooms and rates. Follow prompts and complete as required

 



Promotion requirements 
  1. Secret Deal: A minimum of 10% discount is required. Validation in place
  2. Discount: Only % is supported
  3. Stay Dates: For promotion that is not applicable for all days, click on ‘Custom’ and apply applicable day(s) by clicking on radio button


  1. Additional Details: Select applicable cancellation policy and Payment Type.
  2. Click on SAVE to create promotion: When promotion is successfully created and submitted to Booking.Com, success message is returned.

Early Booker  Attract early bookers and set discount to fill low season rooms early. Follow prompts and complete as required



Promotion requirements
  1. Secret Deal: A minimum of 10% discount is required. Validation in place.
  2. Advanced Days: Number of days in advanced booker must book prior to check in date.
  3. Discount: Only % supported.
  4. Stay Dates: For promotion that is not applicable for all days, click on ‘Custom’ and apply applicable day(s) by clicking on radio button



  1. Additional Details: Select applicable cancellation policy and Payment Type.
  2. Click on SAVE to create promotion: When promotion is successfully created and submitted to Booking.Com, success message is returned.

Last Minute  Promotion to attract last minute bookers. Follow prompts and complete as required



Promotion requirements
  1. Secret Deal: A minimum of 10% discount is required. Validation in place
  2. Discount: Only % is supported
  3. Hours: Up to 24 hours only supported
  4. Stay Dates: For promotion that is not applicable for all days, click on ‘Custom’ and apply applicable day(s) by clicking on radio button



  1. Additional Details: Select applicable cancellation policy and Payment Type.
  2. Click on SAVE to create promotion: When promotion is successfully created and submitted to Booking.Com, success message is returned.

Business Booker  Set discounts for verified, logged in business travellers that will apply to all rooms and rates. Follow prompts and complete as required



Promotion requirements
  1. Discount: Only % is supported.
  2. Blackout dates: Select days Promotion is not available. The promotion can't have more than 30 blackout dates. 
  3. Click on SAVE to create promotion: When promotion is successfully created and submitted to Booking.Com, success message is returned.
 
Note: Eligible properties will see the Business rate tab in Booking.Com extranet (Rates & Availability > Business rate).




Geo Rates Increase Booking.Com bookings by targeting guests from specific region. Designed targeted discounts that you can offer to guests from a market of your choice.  Follow prompts and complete as required



Promotion requirements
  1. Country: Select Country promotion is applicable too.
  2. Discount: Only % is supported.
  3. Blackout dates: Select days Promotion is not available. The promotion can't have more than 30 blackout dates. 
  4. Property is permitted to create one Geo discount per country.
  5. Only eligible countries for the specific property will display in Country drop down list.
  6. Click on SAVE to create promotion: When promotion is successfully created and submitted to Booking.Com, success message is returned.

Mobile Rates Target on the go bookers, using the Mobile rate discount.  Follow prompts and complete as required


Promotion requirements
  1. Platform: We recommend to offer discounts to both ‘App and Mobile web’ users, as not all bookers have downloaded app. This is to ensure you reach a wider audience.
  2. Discount: Only % is supported. Minimum 10% discount applied
  3. Blackout dates: Select days Promotion is not available. The promotion can't have more than 30 blackout dates. 
  4. Discount applies to all your room and rate plans offered on booking.com. This discount stacks on top of Genius discounts as well as any other promotions you have set up. However, it doesn’t get added to Geo (Country) Rates or Deal of the Day
  5. Click on SAVE to create promotion: When promotion is successfully created and submitted to Booking.Com, success message is returned.
 
OTA Promotion details page



  1. All promotions are listed on OTA Promotion Page
  2. Search option to view promotions (based on promotion name).
  3. Option to ‘Edit’ live promotion
  4. Option to ‘Delete’ promotion 
  5. View summary of promotion using the VIEW option.

Booking.Com RUID is also available. This is the Booking.Com reference for tracking purposes (View>RUID)



Click on ‘Report’ button to pull stats from booking.com. Information pulled as below:


In Booking.Com extranet

You can view promotion created via Promotions Module > Promotion.



Country Rates, Business bookers and Mobile rates are accessible via Rates & Availability > Country Rates.





  1. Click on ‘Action’ > Edit to see discount details


  1. Click on ‘Select Dates’ to see blackout dates.
