STAAH MAX - What is Group Booking Engine Widget? How is it useful?

The booking engine widget allows you to redirect a booker from your website to the booking engine. The booker will select the check-in/check-out dates from the website, once diverted the booking engine will display available rooms/packages for the selected dates.

Groups now have the option to customise the colours of the Group booking engine direct from MAX extranet

Where? 



  1. Login to MAX extranet (using group login)
  2. Select Booking engine widget module

Within this module, you can view and edit your booking engine setup



1. Booking engine widget script: generate the booking engine widget for your website. Use this tab to provide the widget and booking engine to your website develop, once you have customised your Booking engine
2. Edit: Customise the setup of your booking engine
3. Preview: A preview of your widget and booking engine, allows you to view any changes you have made to customization.

Customize your Booking engine: click the ‘Edit’ icon, customization pop up is displayed



a. Search button: Applies to the ‘Search’ and ‘Check Availability’ widget buttons. Simply select colour
b. Book Now button: Select colour for the ‘Book Now’ button
c. Header/Footer: Select Header/Footer colour
d. Page: Select the page colour (area outside the booking engine grid)
e. Background image: Option to apply image as Booking engine background (instead of Page colour - D)
f. Container: Select the container colour (booking engine grid background)
g. Fonts: Select font, default is Monserrat
h. Button label: Applies to widget, customise button name. Default is ‘Check Availability’ 
i. Banner:  Add or remove banner (new size 1920px * 300)
j. Logo: Option to add property logo. Enable flag to display logo on booking engine header

Additional info:
  1. The group widget will display all properties linked to the group.
  2. All property options are available in the widget.
  3. If the user selects ‘All properties’ the booker is diverted to page that will display all properties within the group in a tile display



  1. Properties are displayed in alphabetical order
  2. Individual property widgets create at property level only
  3. Adult/child search option available at property level only
  4. Properties that have adult/child search option enabled, this is included in widget (Group and property level)
  5. All property option includes check-in/check-out dates and promo code in widget
  6. The Booking engine script has in-built widget. The website developer adds the script, the buttons are auto populated.
  7. Existing customers have a custom-built design and will not see option to customise. Please contact your local Partner services team

Website implementation notes:
  1. Add widget script within the <body> tag.
  2. Add script on all pages you want the Booking engine widget to display
  3. The website developer can choose where to place the widget (i.e middle of the page), within the <body> tag.
  4. The script uses Javascript –compatible with all sites (WordPress)
