STAAH MAX - How to manage your OTA Promotions on STAAH for Expedia?

OTA promotion feature allows a property to setup promotions on Expedia via MAX extranet. 

This feature supports creating NEW promotions created in MAX extranet, and option to pull existing promotions created on OTA extranet.


Where is this found?

Login to MAX Extranet > Setup > Channels > OTA promotion






  1. Get Promotion – enables the property to pull in existing promotions created on OTA extranet.
  1. Properties that manage multiple OTA listings can select what listing to pull promotions from.
  2. Select ‘Get Promotion’ for applicable OTA Listing


  1. Add Promotion – ability to create a NEW promotion. 

1.   Click the ‘Add Promotion’ button. 



2. Add promotion name > select ‘Channel’ > promotion type > Channel ID. 



The below Expedia promotions are supported, each with their set requirements.
  1. Basic
  2. Early Booker
  3. Last Minute

3. Select the applicable Room/Rate plan combination that will be part of the promotion>Next. 
  1. Multiple Rate plan selection supported
  2. Rooms/Rate plans displayed will be based on what is mapped to the Channel listing ID selected.


BASIC 

Easy to use promotion that will give the guest a discount on selected rooms and rates. Follow prompts and complete as required

 


Promotion requirements 
  1. Who will see this promotion By default promotion is visible to all users. Option to limit visibility to Mobile or Member only
  2. Booking dates: Select the date range the booker must book to receive a promotion discount
  3. Stay dates: Date range the booker must stay to receive promotion discount
  4. Discount type:
  1. Single discount: discount applies to total booking amount
  2. Daily discount: set discount based on day of the week
  3. Multi-night discount: Offer free or discounted night to guests who stay a particular amount of time
  1. Discount amount: Enter discount amount (% only supported)

Optional features:



  1. Length of stay: Minimum and maximum stay night supported
  2. Advance days: Enter the minimum and maximum days before the check-in date required to receive the promotion
  3. Blackout dates select dates that discount will not apply 

Click on SAVE to create promotion: When the promotion is successfully created and submitted to Expedia, a success message is returned.
 

Early Booker  Discount to early bookers. Follow prompts and complete as required

Last Minute  Promotion that is booked within a short time before check-in

  2. Booking start time Select time promotion will be available. Applies to the current date.
  3. Stay dates: Date range the booker must stay to receive promotion discount
  4. Discount amount: Enter discount amount (% only supported)

Optional features:

Blackout dates select dates that discount will not apply


 
OTA Promotion details page



  1. All promotions are listed on OTA Promotion Page
  2. Search option to view promotions (based on promotion name).
  3. Option to ‘Edit’ live promotion
  4. Option to ‘Delete’ promotion 
  5. View summary of promotion using the VIEW option.
  6. Contracted promotions:
  1. Can be pulled in from Expedia extranet, using ‘Fetch’ option
  2. Promotion managed directly via Expedia extranet
  3. Edit/delete buttons not available for contract promotions




Sell status:
  1. Active: Bookable, todays date is between the promotions booking date/time
  2. Future: Not bookable, todays date is outside promotions booking date/time. Promotion will become available in the future
  3. Expired: Not bookable, todays date is after the promotions booking date/time
