STAAH MAX – How to Manage Booking.com Content from Channel Manager?

We are moving to Content – similarly with Instant it will change the mapping flow.

What has changed?
  1. A fresh new design and layout – don’t worry both options are available (old and new)
  2. More features that you can manage from channel manager (full content below)
  1. Map to an existing Booking.Com listing (not mapped in STAAH)
  2. Map to an existing room type or rate plan setup on Booking.Com
  3. Create a new room type on Booking.Com
  4. Create a brand-new listing on Booking.Com
  5. Create a new rate plan and link to an existing Booking.Com room type
  6. Create derived rate plan and link to existing rate plan on Booking.Com

New connection/enabling in channel manager:
  1. Setup > Channels
  2. Select Booking.Com from drop down box
  3. On mapping page, you will see the below (this indicates no mapping in place will see the below)
  4. If you have an account >select ‘Yes I do’ > need to add Legal entity ID (optional) and Channel Hotel ID
  5. No I don’t – Create a brand new listing and generate legal entity on Booking.Com



  1. Select currency
  2. Select taxes (if applicable)
  3. Select rate pricing type
  4. Next > to divert to channel mapping page


Channel mapping

Click – Link to location ID > Select Booking.Com ID




Option 1: Map to a room/rate set in Booking.com – this option is to map room type in Channel manager to a room/rate plan listed on Booking.Com. Applies to channel manager room types that are currently not mapped

You are diverted to mapping pop-up


  1. Channel Room Name: Click on drop down box, you should see corresponding rate plans setup in extranet. Select and apply accordingly. This will pull in all rooms/rate plans listed on booking.com
  2. Package code: This is required for some PMS for booking delivery. As a standard it is mandatory that a code is setup for all. This is setup in MAX. Click on drop down box to select applicable. If there is none setup, you can create via Setup > Rate Codes.
  3. Mapping IDs: Auto pick up by dynamic mapping (Room ID, board ID, contract ID, validity and pricing type)
  4. App Guest: Room based pricing and Occupancy based pricing supported (Default pricing module is Room based
  1. Occupancy pricing, 
  2. simply apply formula/surcharge for all guests that can be accommodated in the selected room.
  3. Once mapping is completed for all rooms, enable OBP flag in channel password
  1. Multiplier: obtain information from property. Note this is calculated from the base rate.
  2. Fixed minimum stay: Channel supports flexible minimum stay – select No if Min stay varies 
  3. Maximum Stay: Channel supports flexible maximum stay.


Option 2: Create a new rate plan or link to existing rate plan to room – this option allows you to map an existing Booking.Com rate plan or create a new rate plan in Booking.Com

1. On mapping page Click ‘Map a room’




2. Click ‘Create a new rate plan or link to existing plan 

3. Rate plan pop up – follow prompts
  1. Channel room type: Select Booking.Com room type
  2. Channel rate plan: Select ‘Create new rate plan’ or select available rate plan from drop down
  1. Create new rate plan – channel manager rate code required, please select from drop down
  1. Meal plan: Select applicable meal plan. Meal plans are based on Booking.Com setup
  2. Cancellation policy: Select from drop down. Options are based on your setup in Booking.Com. To create new policy, please login to Booking.Com extranet

Option 3: Create derived rate plan on Booking.Com – this allows you to create a new rate plan where rates are set to derive from parent rate plan.
To create derived rate plan, properties must have parent rate plan linked to room type. Rates for derived rate plan are calculated from parent rate plan + rate plan formula

1. On mapping page click ‘Map a room’
2. Click ‘Create new rate plan or link existing rate plan to room’ 


1.       Rate plan pop-up follow prompts

a.       Room type

b.       Rate plan – select ‘Create new rate plan

c.       Enter rate plan name

d.       Enable ‘derived rateplan’ flag – this will apply derived rate plan setup

e.       Select parent rate plan – this will be the rate plan is derived/calculated from

f.        Enter calculation – percentage only supported

g.       Select meal plan

h.       Select cancellation policy

Option 4: Add new room on Booking.Com -  this options allows you to create a new room type on Booking.com 

1.       On mapping page Click ‘Map a room’



2.  Click ‘Add new room on Booking.Com’ on click you are diverted to wizard.


Wizard has 4 tabs

1. Room information – Room info
  1. Follow prompts
  2. Fill in all necessary fields
  3. Wizard will auto move to next page when you click next. 



2. Room information – Image info
  1.  Minimum 4 images required
  2. Simply select check box for required images



3. Room information – Rate info. From this page you can map room type to existing Booking.Com rate plan or scroll down to create a New rate plan

5.       Booking.Com response – click ‘Next’ once loaded

  2. Click ‘Edit mapping’ to view mapping pop-up
  3. Set applicable guest, formula and update as require > update


  1. Finish – on click a sync is triggered to Booking.Com. 

Remove mapping option

Within STAAH you can remove mapping in Channel manager or Remove mapping in STAAH and Channel manager.
A full stop sell must be pushed out before mapping is removed

1. Mapping page, Select ‘Delete’ icon. 


      

2. Select option:
  1. Delete mapping from Channel manager –will remove rate plan mapping within Channel manager
  2. Delete mapping from Booking.Com & Channel manager – will remove rate plan mapping within Channel manager & Booking.Com.
  3. When there is one rate plan mapped, this room type is considered unmapped and no longer visible on Booking.Com Calendar.
  4. Ignore – to cancel, no mapping is deleted

Create new listing on Booking.Com ideal for PMCs, who have a new apartment that requires a separate location ID (different location to existing IDs).

Select ‘Create new listing’ from drop down box, then Create Listing

Create a brand new Booking.Com legal entity and listing:

Select ‘No, I don’t’ – complete prompts to create a listing and legal entity ID on Booking.Com.





Please ensure email is correct. Booking.Com will trigger an email to property to Agree/Sign agreement. Agreement must be signed for the property to be open/bookable on Booking.Com.

Complete setup. On click user diverted to wizard

Content management
  1. Listings created through MAX – access to manage full content
  2. Listings created directly on Booking.Com – access to manage cancellation policy and meal plan at rate plan level. Full content, continue to manage via Booking.Com extranet.
  1. Room > Access to update room details however room images can only be managed via Booking.com extranet
  2. Rate plan > Access to manage cancellation policy and meal plan
  3. Full content - Continue to manage via Booking.com extranet
