STAAH Max V2 - Swiftbook - Link Cancellation Policy to Payment Type or Payment Gateway
What is New?
If the property supports multiple payment gateways, they can link the appropriate/ applicable payment gateway to a cancellation policy. When they set up a package, applying the cancellation policy will also determine the applicable payment type/ payment gateway for that package. The customer will see all the applicable payment options.
Key Points:
1. This functionality is permission-based and can be enabled via: Super Admin > Permissions > 'Enable Link PG With Policy'
2. Suitable for properties that offer multiple payment options.
3. When enabled, the system supports a hybrid setup:
You can use both the standard cancellation policy setup and the new linked payment gateway functionality.
4. As per normal, a cancellation policy is not editable.
When creating a cancellation policy, there is an option to link to a payment type or payment gateway
On the Cancellation Policies page, any policy with a linked payment type or payment gateway is visually marked with an icon for easy identification.
In Package Setup, this icon is also visible in the cancellation policy drop-down.
The Cancellation Policies action menu includes an option to view packages and smart pricing rules associated with a policy
In Package Setup:
• The icon is also visible in the cancellation policy dropdown.
• If a policy with a linked payment type/gateway is selected, the 'Form of Payment' option is removed.
• Instead, the relevant payment configuration details are clearly displayed, helping users understand what is automatically applied.
On the Package details page, the cancellation policy with the linked payment type/ payment gateway is highlighted with an icon.
Use Cases:
Example 1:
The property offers both 'Pay Now' and 'Pay Later' options. For packages where only 'Pay Later' is available, properties can create a specific cancellation policy and link it to the Hotel Collect payment type.
Example 2:
Package pricing varies by currency depending on the customer's nationality. Properties can establish tailored cancellation policies for each currency, associate them with compatible payment gateways and link the policy to the applicable package.
Example 3:
To accept only bank transfers without credit card details, link 'Offline Payment' to a cancellation policy. This ensures only offline payment appears on the booking engine. However, bookings made outside the 'permissible days prior to arrival' will automatically revert to collecting credit card details.
